Blue Mountains Canyoning - Empress Canyon

The Empress Canyon experience in the Blue Mountains serves as the ideal introduction for those wanting to get started with the canyoning experience. This tour features a blend of lush rainforest, rock jumps and culminating in a final 30m abseil down the side of a waterfall! Join your friendly and professional guides as you head into this beautiful, untouched part of Australia and learn the key points of fundamental canyoning technique, climbing, jumping, swimming, rappelling and otherwise navigating your way from one challenge to the next.

Located in the Valley of the Waters Creek near Wentworth Falls, Empress Canyon offers easy access alongside a number of jumps and short swims that are ideal for getting your feet wet with canyoning as a whole - you'll likely love it so much you'll want to do a higher level in the future! Throughout the experience you'll be donning top-notch equipment including a thick wetsuit, canyoning harness, backpack and helmet which will provide all the warmth and safety you'll need to focus on the adventure.

Canyoners are required to have a moderate level of fitness as this tour is considered to be quite intense. The adventure runs for a total of three hours and all you're asked to bring a dry change of clothes, running shoes, a towel and water.

What To Bring

• Comfortable clothing you don't mind getting wet
• Swimwear
• Dry clothing to change into afterwards
• Change of footwear (thongs or sandals are fine and they’ll be left on the bus)
• Towel
• One litre of water
• Rain jacket (weather dependent)
• Sunscreen, sunglasses and hat recommended
• Hair ties for long hair
• Please leave valuables at home

Terms And Conditions

• Minimum of two participants
• Minimum age is 10 years old
• Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or have them complete a consent form in advance
• A moderate level of fitness is required
• Participants must be able to swim
• Please note there will be one guide to a maximum of five participants
• Please note canyoning is a warm weather activity and runs seasonally

• Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
