Your adventure starts with a convenient pickup from Rotorua Information Centre, where you’ll pass by the iconic Redwood Forest before arriving at the peaceful lakeside base. After gearing up and receiving safety instructions, you’ll set out on a breathtaking exploration of the Rotorua Lakes as the sun sets.

Glide through the calm waters, soaking in the last light of the day, before paddling into caves filled with twinkling glow worms. These little creatures create a truly enchanting atmosphere, that will make you feel like you’re in another world. As night falls and the stars come out, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the Milky Way on your return to the lakeside base. • This experience will take approximately 3 hours.

Departure Location

• This experience departs from the Rotorua Information Centre located at 1167 Fenton Street, Rotorua 3010, New Zealand.

What To Bring

• For kayaking in summer (November - February):

• Light-weight clothing

• Shorts/pants/leggings for your bottom half

• At least two layers for your top half

• Water friendly shoes are recommended, provided free of charge if needed

• For kayaking outside of summer (March - October):

• Warm hat

• Gloves

• Warm clothing (thermal if possible)

• Pants/leggings for your bottom half

• Minimum of three layers for your top half (which are preferably thermal, fleece, or wool)

• During coolest months you will be provided a wetsuit to wear over your clothes

• Water friendly shoes are recommended, provided free of charge if needed

• Extra Items:

• 2 x pairs of socks

• Towel

• Water bottle

• Rain jacket if it looks likely to rain

• Change of clothes (just incase)

• Sense of fun and adventure

Terms And Conditions

• Shuttle service runs to and from the Rotorua Information Centre
• We recommend that you arrive at least 10 mins prior to the meeting time at the Rotorua Information Centre
• We recommend booking in advance to secure your spot due to popularity as on the day bookings can miss out as they may be fully booked
• We will do the best to get in touch well in advance if the weather looks bad, unfortunately sometimes mother nature wins, if regulations allow to operate then tour will operate
• Suitable for all ages above 5 years old (inclusive)
• All participants 16 years and under must be supervised by a responsible adult 18 years or over
• The kayaks are ‘two person sit-on-top kayaks’ a weight limit of 220kg (total per kayak) applies

Cancellation Policy

• Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
• Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
• Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
